With a Masters Degree in Education from Queens College, City University of New York and experience as an elementary school teacher, I became a Director of nursery schools and day care centers in New York City. As time went on I became especially interested in working with and counseling families, parents, and individuals.

I graduated from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University in 1987 and opened a private psychotherapy practice and also began teaching in the Social Sciences Department of the Borough of Manhattan Community College, City University of New York. In 1989 I began working in the Adoption Department of the New York Foundling. I am currently the Administrative Supervisor of the Record Information Office and provide medical and adoption information to all members of the adoption triangle.

I belong to several professional organizations and have served on various committees of:

  • National Association of Social Workers
  • New York State Society for Clinical Social Work
  • Adoption Action Network (Corresponding Secretary)
  • Post Adoption Consortium (helped write The Adoption Keepsake Guide)

VH1 interviewed me for their show in 2006: Rock Docs: DMC: My Adoption Journey.
CBS Television in 1999 and Notre Dame Magazine in 1997 have interviewed me on Adoption.
